As some of you know we are tracking 2 dozen wild brown trout and their movement in the Little j. The first transmitters were deployed in April ’15. So far we have learned that browns will often return to where they were caught. In one case a transmitter was placed in a fish (and the trout released)over 1/2 mile downstream from where it was caught. Within 2 days it was located back upstream exactly where it was caught! And it has remained there. With the extreme high water event we just experienced, it will be interesting to see if the trout move and if so…upstream or down? I’ll continue to give updates here and on the LJRA Facebook page.
